A nice chew that unfortunately did not last It took some time for our mediumsized dog to get used to the Nylabone Wishbone the first nylabone product we tried as it is much harder than the rawhide he loves so much. However once he took a liking to it it lasted less than a month. For some reason he would only chew one of the prongs and not touch the other two even when a good chunk of the first prong was gone. I felt that I always needed to supervise him when he chewed this toy because it was easy for him to bite off sharp pieces. I also never left it on the floor pulling it out from his toy box only when I was there to watch him. This product definitely satisfied our dog's urge to chew and it was enough to replace rawhide which is much more expensive. Although we didn't stick with this product it led us to the Nylabone Big Chew Beef Bone a much larger bone that so far has lasted for 3 months. It has enough thickness to prevent our dog from sharpening it like a knife which he used to do with the Wishbone. And I don't have to worry about him swallowing sharp pieces while I am not there to watch.Overall the Wishbone can be a suitable chew for smaller less aggressive chewers. People with larger dogs should probably look into more substantial chew bones offered by Nylabone such as the Big Chew Beef Bone and other products from the Big Chew line.
Nylabone don't leave me alone! Received the wishbone today and straight out of the package my 3.5month old Goldendoodle will not put it down! As with other reviews the shape allows her to prop it up and angle it. She continues to play with it and chew on it.
Nylabone wolf I ordered this nylabone without knowing the size of the product. My little 17lb. Boston totes that thing around alright but it is 5 tall and must weigh a half pound. It is a bit too big. I really wanted the small size that is about 3 tall. Next time.
Great!!!! My dog is a small dog but destroys every toy or bone I get her. But she loves chewing on the nyla bone and it is holding up just great. She and I both love it.Will get another one if she ever destroys it.
it's ok My 1 year old mixed breed likes this toy but it's definitely not his favorite. He definitely likes to chew on this but the kongs can hold his attention for HOURS and he'll only chew on this for like 10 minutes then he gets bored and starts fussing and looking around for something else to do aka getting into trash cans. He's pretty smart and DEFINITELY needs a challenge.Additionally I don't really care for the design of this bone. I think it's really cool that the people at Nylabone are trying to design toys that the dogs can hold on to with their paws. My dog is really good at holding this toy with the double end in his paws and chewing on the single end but he never chews on the other end no matter how many times I've tried to convince him that those ends can be chewed on too. So soon the toy will be unsuitable for him to have anymore b/c one end will be really worn down but the other ends are completely untouched so to me it's like throwing out a whole piece of steak b/c one of the corners is singed. Also sometimes he gets so excited about chewing on this toy that I find blood from his gums on it which worries me a bit he's my first dog and I don't know how much of that is me being super paranoid about his safety or if I should take it away from him. Most of the time he's ok though and the vet said his teeth look good.Finally b/c this is essentially just a piece of hard plastic I wouldn't leave it in my dog's crate when he's unsupervised. We use the kong for that or a large marrow bone that we fill with a delicious mixture of carrots kibble and peanut butter for mortar. It's a toy he only gets while we're watching TV before bed or something with him in the room. also he makes a HUGE racket with it on our hardwood floors but that's not the toy's fault.
Great product! My Shihtzu loves this wishbone! I got the wishbone over the normal looking bone b/c he can hold it better between his paws. He goes on chewing this thing for long times. My pup has a sensitive digestive tract and even though he as chewed down one of the ends it doesn't seem to have upset him.
good choice My daughter's french bulldog 10 months old and my son's pit bull 2 yrs old love it. They both are aggressive chewers and have not destroyed this bone 1 month old. A great price on amazon compared to pet store.
The Perfect Chew Toy My 30 lb Brittany was chewing through everything so I couldn't leave her alone with toys for fear of choking. I ordered the Wolf sized wishbone to try out. She LOVES it. She works on it like crazy all the time. She can't chew through it so I'm not afraid to leave her alone with it. Because of the shape it's easy for her to hold. I like that it doesn't smell weird like many chews do. I bought two more because they slide under the couch or she sneaks them outside. Since they're so cheap I'm totally cool with stocking up.
Lab Pleaser I have dogs who love to chew and these wishbones are easy for them to grasp with their paws and chew. They love them and are good for hard chewers.
