Amazing!! Love this bone for my dog. I have a big lab mix who is a very hard chewer. I got him this toy when he was a puppy because almost everything I gave him he destroyed almost instantly. Sampson just turned 4 and is still loving on this bone. I've never tried putting water in it and the only real wear on it is that about have of the spikes have come off expected after 4 years of daily chewing.
Quality of Product has Decreased My dogs Golden Retriever and Black Lab had older versions of this product that we bought in the store that they have had for years before they could chew through them. We got the ones we ordered through Amazon and within 15 minutes they chewed the toy in half. There goes another $30 down the drain.
Dog doesn't want it. My puppy a black lab/german shepherd mix is an avid chewer and has a ton of energy. So much that we have to walk her twice a day. I figured this toy would be perfect for her when she started teething. I bought it for her about two months ago when she was maybe 89 weeks old? and couldn't get her interested. I even put peanut butter on it and although she licked it off she was really bored with the toy and didn't play with it.This week she started teething. I figured I'd give it another shot since the frozen bone might feel good on her sore gums. She still isn't interested. She'll chase ice cubes around the house all day long but won't touch this. She is incredibly smart and thus gets bored easily so she chews on everything from contact solution bottles to the carpet to our shoes and bedding she has even swallowed several socks. I tried to play tug with her with this toy to get her interested and nothing. She drops it and walks away.Don't know what it is. The bone doesn't have an unpleasant smell but it does have sort of a vanillay smell to it. I suppose maybe the chemical is strong enough that she isn't interested? It's a real bummer to me because I thought she would absolutely love it. I did give two stars because the construction is obviously very solid and if she were interested in playing with it I have no doubt that it would last a very long time.
Disappointed My Lab had one end chewed off in 10 minutes. Really disappointed. The last one lasted a couple of years.
Best Dog Toy EVER I have a male pit bull who has been a near obsessive chewer his entire life. I'm so grateful that he has always taken out his obsession on toys and not my house that I have poured countless amounts of money into toys for him. This toy for some reason is his absolute favorite. He can excercise his jaw and the nodules keep his teeth clean but for some reason he does not systematically destroy this toy. He does however immediately cut it in half and makes two toys out of it but that is all. I HIGHLY recommend removing the plug on the end as this can be a choking hazard and my dog can pull the plug out in a matter of minutes. If you have ever spent money on a 'Kong' toy you have got to try this. This toy lasts about a year and a half in my house. UNHEARD OF! It is only thrown away when it is entire worn out or too dirty to deal with. Kong toys offer him total amusement but he will tear ALL of them apart.
the dogs loved it maybe a bit too much i have a golden and two labs that all went crazy for this toy. unfortunately three large dogs wasnt exactly what this toy was intended for and it was promptly torn in half. it obviously dosent hold water anymore but the dogs now enjoy each half individually with peanut butter stuffed inside. we have a similar toy from hartz that apparently isnt sold on amazon. its pretty much the same toy but its a ball about 2 1/2 in. around. if you have multiple dogs i would suggest getting those balls rather than this bone to prevent the whole tug of war thing that they love so much. the last couple summers big lots stores have carried the balls for $.80 each.
My labs favorite toy! This is the greatest toy ever! Our lab has played with it everyday since she was a puppy.
Not interested in the least My dog wants nothing to do with this bone and she loves ice cubes! I even tried putting chicken stock in it and she could care less. The plug was almost impossible to unscrew. I had to use pliers and pretty much ruined it. I don't recommend.
The one toy puppy didn't like All i can say is the puppy didn't like it much i filled it with water and froze it and he just left it. It was hot out too. The worst part about it is the white paint on it was coming off after just the first 5 minutes! Geez guys get some better paint on the product i would hate to see what would happen if my puppy actually liked the toy.I would have to believe the reviews that have said the quality has decreased.
Not that tuff! I read a lot of the review of how people had ruff & tuff dog that could NOT destroy this toy. We have a Chocolate lab/German Short Hair mix and he has managed to dis troy this toy in 2 weeks. Oh well I guess it was made for a ruff & tuff dogs.
