Entertainment you don't have to provide! I like this ball much better then the babble ball since it has the rubber tire enclosure. Amazingly the tire is still in tact. Babble ball's plastic was so chewed up/spikey that I had to get rid of it after a few plays for fear of the little guy swallowing bits of plastic! But I still buy him that toy since he loves it so much! Just be aware if your dog is yippy like mine. He's part yorkshire terrier so he likes to shake and then bark at the toy. So he plays only during a weekend day when I know he won't be bothering the neighbors too much.
Excellent product! I tweaked it to prevent chewing This tire thing is awesome. My dog is a rescue a six month old onceferal 50lb border collie lab mix who is way too intelligent for her own good. So this toy provides some much needed stimulation and gives me a rest break from chasing her around. .It makes the following animal noisesMonkeyPig oinkWolf howlPigeon/chicken cooMeowCowTiger ROAWRBobcat snarlEagleAnd perhaps a few others. It has some obvious design flaws. The tire is not tough enough. If it was made out of a rubber konglike material it'd be FAR superior. Secondly the plastic ball inside of it that holds the noisemaker is very hard to get to for battery changes etc.If I were to redesign this toy I'd make the plastic ball inside a nonchewable metal and the tires out of TOUGH extremekong style rubber. Sure it's for ENTERTAINMENT purposes but that doesn't stop my dog from having a very powerful jaw that tears apart these sorts of toys quickly.Barring the ability to take over this company and make executive design decisions for them I have a solution.I get pairs of large old socks I have lots of the spa plush microfiber slipper socks that I don't care about and stretch two of them tightly over the ball. As they develop holes etc I remove those socks and replace them with a new pair. This has the VERY convenient side effect of muffling the animal noises a bit. That sucker is LOUD. Although if you have a senior/deaf dog this would not work well as the noise is probably the best part about it for them!I still would never leave her alone with this or any other toy containing small parts.Must go now dog is drinking out of the toilet again.
HERE'S HOW TO CONTROL THE JUNGLE NOISE FROM IT This was the first toy my rescue puppy played with at her new home with us five years ago it eventually stopped working and was cast aside. I always thought it was really clever and different mostly because it isn't just a repeat of a couple of noises like some one especially that is awful just repeating hey big doggie I GOT cha!! eight million times a day but has over 20 sounds per its maker. The other day I looked at the old dead one and got the PetQwerks name off it searched and found it on good ol' Amazon. As several reviewers noteand as its tag admitsyour dog will love it but it will drive you crazy I didn't think this would he the case for us as we'd already had one and enjoyed it along with the pup.BUT I think it is both louder and easier to activate now a new and improved version apparently. I think it even irritates the dog who gives it a look when it starts roaring barking and screeching across the room seemingly by itself. The key pun intended to this problem is to retain the little clear plastic piece that you pull out when you first get the toy working. This piece keeps the battery from making contact and the toy from giving postal workers heart attacks thinking they're delivering a shipment of fighting weasels or illegal wildlife species.I had thrown it away. As soon as I realized my mistake I tried to make a similar plastic piece with no luck. Fortunately I found the original and now keep it in a place where it will not get lost. It would be smarter come to think of it to put a colorful and visible tag on it so it won't get lost. As it is it's as easy to overlook as a contact lens dropped on the floor.Another thing I ordered a medium size and got a ball that is larger than I wanted even though my dog is over 90 pounds. It is larger than a tennis ball. Large must be reeally big. Should note also that is is durable and I believe safe.
Super Fun This toy is so cool I love the way my dogs look at it with their heads tilted to the side My dogs are big chewers and so far it has stood the test.
Crazy for this toy!
Not for chewers! As a previous reviewer stated it did not take long at all a few hours in fact for my dog to break pieces of the tire off. Too bad because my dogs really loved the toy.
Toy stopped making noises Bought the toy for my Shitzu. It lasted about 2 days and stopped making noises. I changed the batteries the original ones were dead and it still doesn't make a sound. I double checked polarity to make sure it was right. Sent an Email to the manufacturer asking their advice. That was 2 weeks ago and to this day they haven't responded. I'm not very happy with it. Amazon credited my account with the purchase price. I'm definitely happy with Amazon's customer service but not with PetQwerks.
My dog's FAVORITE toy with one HUGE problem I bought this through another company and it was advertised as indestructible for tough chewers. He ripped that rubber apart in minutes. He goes bonkers over the noises it makes and talks to it and plays with itI ended up putting the noisy ball inside another toy so he can still play with the noisesbut was worried ball would be slippery and he'd choke. If this had solid rubber instead of hollow inside each part maybe it would've held up but it felt more like plastic on the edges he chewed than rubber. I called the company because it was advertised to be chew proof about it happening in minutes and they refused even to give store credit. Wish I'd ordered it through here because then I wouldn't have lost the money. Still looking for another toy with these types of sounds that he won't destroyhe had a blockage when I first adopted him and I don't want to go through that again.
My dog's absolute favorite toy My dog absolutely loooooves this extremely noisy toy. I remember the first time she met it she was kind of scared of it. But with a little encouragement she was playing with it in no time. I may not even have to get a second dog to keep her company outdoors because she plays with this toy so readily and gleefully when we put her in the fenced area to get some air and exercise. Fortunately she does not try to chew on it. She just grabs it and tosses it then fetches it and runs all around with it in her mouth while it emanates those amazingly varied and pretty darned loud banryard animal sounds. I just hope it doesn't injure her hearingThis is a very cool toy overall. I own three of these. I also buy them for my dogowning friends as presents. I have even figured out that I can replace the batteries in these to keep them going. However. I buy this item medium size one I think at my local grocery store Hannaford's for under five dollarsTo get my dog used to the ball when she was afraid of it at first here is what I didFirst I rolled the ball it crowed and neighed and that freaked her out. So I picked it up kept still with it and let her smell it in my hand quietly just to investigate the smell. When she touched her nose to it I made a big deal of praising her profusely. Then I put the ball down while I kept up calm conversation with my dog. The ball started sounding and she looked wary and started barking. I reassured her and made a big production of grabbing the ball tossing it in the air catching it and making it look like fun. She started barking again when the sounds started. I waited until she calmed down praised her and tossed the ball away. She ran after it barking but would not touch it. I ran after it having fun smiling happy excited and went up to the ball and touched it but did not pick it up. She ventured nearer looking suspicious but willing to investigate. When she got to the ball I praised her and let her nose it.
Dog put hurtin' on it. My dog loved this toy to the annoyance of the rest of us in the house. lol But the tire did not stand up to the test of a border collie mix. She is death to most squeaky toys but I had hoped that this would be a challenge. While she loved the noise and chewability of the tire she destroyed it in fairly short order leaving small black pieces all over the house. The tire could be more durable this would help. For the money I was disappointed in the tire part. The babble ball part is still alive and kicking out annoying sounds after months of play.
