Great for 1530 Minute Distractions This has certainly stood the test of time. Our three chomploving dogs who chew Kongs up and spit them out for breakfast haven't destroyed this and the other West Paw Design toyTuxwe have and we've had both nearly for about eight months.I discovered that you could stick one end of the Hurley bone into the cavity of the Tux.Once they easily learned how to get the treats out of this I bend/fold Happy Hips' Duck Breast jerky treats into I began to play around to make it more challenging. It requires a bit of strength to put the two pieces together but it definitely slows the pups down. It's a bit phallic looking though! You can stick smaller treats into the bottom of the Tux cavity and then around the edges of where the Hurley and Tux come together. Has anyone else discovered this? One of our pups the strong one immediately pops it out but the other brains one has a much more difficult time with it so it keeps them both busy for at least 1530 minutes. These do have a long guarantee but I've often wondered if there's something in the ingredients that repels at least my dogs from chewing it to pieces. They seem to have no desire to play with it unless there are treats involved which I suppose is the point!.
great product i bought this for my dogs that destroy every toy i buy themeven the expensivedurable toysthis one has not been destroyed. yet. but they really like to play fetch with it.
Thwarted our toughest chewers Our yellow lab loves chewing on toys and can easily destroy the most expensive of bones in no time flat. We've have marginal luck with kongs some are still in tact but with big chunks missing. Lesser toys only survive an hour or two in our house if we're lucky. The original hurley we purchased for our dog well over a year ago is still going strong. He chews on it every day drags it everywhere with him and we even use it for playing fetch sometimes and it looks almost as good as the day it arrived. I was so pleased with it that I've purchased one in every color and recommended it to everyone I know. My parents recently got a new puppy and she is an even more aggressive chewer than either of my two labs so I purchased a hurley bone for her and she has really met her match. She plays with her bone all the time chews on it plays tug with it and she hasn't been able to put more than a couple of teeth marks in it over the last 4 months that she has had it.If you get tired of wasting your money on expensive dog toys that don't last I highly recommend you try the Hurley dog toy. We've bought a number of them and tried them on multiple chewers all with great success.
It's extremely durable Throw it chuck it bounce it your dog will love it. I don't let her chew on it but she'll fetch it all day and it's showing almost no damage. It's dirty and that's about it.
bones Excellent toy. My german shepherd puppy is 1 yr old and loves to retreive it and chew on it . Anyone who has ever had a gsd knows those teeth are always busy.
Bad Bone The 1st one I bought in Canada lasted 12 months this one lasted a few weeks. I'm sending it back for replacement.
Great for Tough Chewers We have a ten year old Boston Terrier mix who has always been a voracious chewer destroying almost any toy we bought for her. These toys seem to be durable and well made. I purchased the toys after reading all the positive reviews and have been happy with my decision. We also purchased the Tux which is a little awkward for throwing but great for chewing. I would highly recommend these toys.
Our Boxer loves it..and so do we! Our 70 lb 11 month old Boxer has chewed on his new Hurley bone every day for over a month. So far it only shows a couple of small chew marks. This is unreal when you consider how fast he has chewed through other toys we've tried. We are sold! We will without doubt buy other Hurley toys in the future. To add to my first review after 7 months of continual chewing his first Hurley our Boxer only made a few deep chew marks. That is much much better than any other toy we purchased for him. We did not want him to work pieces loose so we ordered him a new Hurley and tossed the original. The new Hurley is noticeably lighter weight than the first. Our Boxer has now chewed on the new toy for 2 weeks and it shows no signs so it must be as tough as the first. We are impressed enough with the performance of these toys that we've shared the information about them with our dogloving friends.
so far so good! We're still only on day two but there's much more interest with this toy versus the hard plastic cousins like nylabone.
Love it! I have a St Bernard Springer Spaniel and a Cockapoo. Up until now I was wasting my money. I tried all kinds of toys and they would be garbage within minutes. Love love love this item. It'a as tough as they say it is. Just ordered two more.
