Fantastic I owned one of these and left it attached to a spring pole at my old house. It has been there for about five years hanging outdoors and being played with. Now I'm buying another one for my current place. If you don't know a spring pole is a garage spring attached to a high tree branch with a rope attached to it and a toy on the end of the rope hanging a couple of feet above the ground. The dog can play on his own tugging and swinging. Spring depends on dog size mine is a 90lb spring for a 75lb dog and so does the height of the hanging toy.
Not for aggressive chewers My puppy chewed through the red plastic handle and after that started on the rope which is many thin threads braided together. She was able to break the threads with no problem. If your dog likes to tug and doesn't chew it should be fine but for aggressive chewers it isn't indestructible.
not for aggressive chewers This tug toy is not for aggressive chewers. My American Bulldog tore the handle apart right away and shredded that end. It took mere minutes for that to happen. This toy would be better for dogs who are not aggressive chewers. I give them 2 stars.
Quality This is a quality built pet toy. I have a 75 pound female husky that is a toy demolition machine. I hate to see her wreck a $7 toy in minutes flat. This thing can take a beating and intrests her for 15 minute straight blasts. She can be crazy agressive pulling at me which gives her a good workout. It looks like it will last at least a year which is quite a statement around her.
Nice toy just not meant for dogs that chew Got this for a friends dog and it was destroyed within one week. The dog is a pit bull and loves to chew. He chewed it into one big tangle of threads. I bet if you only played tug with the dog this toy would be great just don't leave it with the dog because its easily torn to ribbons especially with dogs that love to chew. I would recommend this but with the caveat to keep this toy up when done playing. Its a play toy not a chew toy like we found out.
Very tough and LARGE toy! My dogs love playing tug of war with this and it's strong.
Not Good for Solo dog play as the name suggests. From the time the package was open until my dog ate the rubber handle off the toy was less than 30 minutes. Once the rubber comes off glue is exposed and must be removed. Then the rope comes apart. If you are going to buy this toy DO NOT let your dog play with it without your presence. Now the rope is an unraveled mess since the glue and rubber handle is where it was spliced together. I am not kidding you she was only interested in the rubber handle and the rubber was soft and came off in chunks. For me this was a complete waste of money.
Dog loves them! Great toy for the price. We have a 100 pound mutt and he really enjoys these tug toys. A word of warning though if the toys are delivered in the winter and the plastic handle gets below the freezing point it becomes VERY brittle and comes apart quite easily with the dog chewing on it. Take this from experience. LOL. From now on when we have them sent to us in the winter we now let them get to room temp before giving them to the dog.
Great toy for playing WITH your dogs. I bought three of these toys the first one the kids left outside with the dogs and they ate itthe next two go inside after playtime. Good fun and they love them.
Great tug toy For a toy described as medium this tug is pretty big. My dog is a pit mix 40lbs and this toy keeps him busy for hours. It's totally durable my dog hasn't chewed off the plastic handle yet! and the fraying has started but that's to be expected with ropes. It's also a really nice looking colored rope not what is pictured in the item description and is one of our betterlooking toys.
