This little piggie came home. We love this little pig our pittie loves to hear ripping sounds so I figured that this was a nice sacrificialpig to offer up to her for a special occasion. It was so big that when she carried it around she couldn't see where she was going and would adorably run into things. It actually lasted 3 months which is approximately 3 months longer than every other toy. I don't know what stopped her she loved chewing around the middle which resisted her but one day she focused on a leg and there it went. Still as many other reviewers have noted Polly lives on she's just had liposuction and now I hide balled up socks in her for more abdominal surgery. Will definitely be purchasing another from this company for Christmas.
One cute piggy! Great valuevery durable and so cute. Bought this as a gift for my Mom's young lab. Both have enjoyed playing with it! Cleans easily too.
One Tough Pig! I will admit that my Am Staff only took 4 days to rip through this pig that we affectionately named Pinky! The first thing to go was the snout and then the little legs. Once all the legs and snout were torn open the stuffing was a gonner. Even though she is now flat that uggly magled mess of pink cloth is her favorite toy ever.
Not as good as the other toys from this company I have three dogs that destroy stuffed pet toys. They first give them a squeakerectomy then completely disembowel them. We have had great luck with the shark and ring version of these toys. They last MUCH longer than other toys and are worth the extra price. Even when they do finally find a way to get to the innards I'm ok with it since at least they are destroying a toy and not anything valuable. Since the others I have tried were so tough I was happy to see the large selection of other versions on Amazon.
threads pulled but still goin' strong Our 15 week old Great Dane puppy had some of the threads snagged and pulled in less than 2 minutes but that didn't and still doesn't affect the sturdiness of it or how much she loves it even 4 weeks on.
Perfect toy for highly destructive dogs My sister got a Jug Jack Russel/Pug mix a few years back and she was the cutest little dog. Her favorite kind of toy always has been stuffed animal types. Unfortunately after a few months every stuffed animal we bought her was decapitated and destuffed within minutes resulting in us having to throw out our creepy stuffed animal graveyard. She is an extremely powerful dog able to pull a 75 pound child around a room who's holding onto the other end of a rope.We switched to Kong rubber balls and Kong ropes which last forever but she just doesn't enjoy them as much. Three years ago her boyfriend bought the dog this exact pig. She had it for over a year before finally tearing into it. Even though she tore into it because of the way it was constructed it took another year and a half to remove all the stuffing from it. She still to this day has the carcass of it which only has a tiny hole in it still.I recently purchased her a replacement and am experiencing the same results. These toys are definitely built to last a long time and are quality made well thought out designs. There is only one downside some dogs seem not to enjoy them. We also have a Bichon Frise who is terrified of the toy. This is most likely due to the toy being the same size as she is though the same is true of the Jug. That being said buy this toy! It is worth every cent but if you have a small dog try out one of the Junior products by the same company.
Not good for tug of war My dogs loved it. Too much. When they were just chomping on it I think it did ok. But once 2 of them started to play tug of war his leg burst and all the stuffing was accessible. For my dogs I would go with another 'version'.
Not too durable be prepared to sew I bought this for my 10 month old beagle after a referral from my Brother saying how good 'Tuff Toys' are. This a way more durable than most dog toys however I was a little let down. The seams around the legs and ears were not great. I could pull them and see the stuffing right out of the package. My puppy figured that out within about an hour too and started to get the stuffing out. I caught it quickly and got my needle and thread out and fixed it. It took about 2 hours of sewing but now it's much better. I would still recommend this but just be prepared to sew it up if you want it to last.2 stars for durability but +1 since my dog loves it so much. So all in all 4 stars. I would buy again however I might go for one that is rated a 9 or 10 in the durability instead of this 7.
Poor old Polly Very cute looking dog toy but poor old Polly had lost all her stuffing within the first hour and a half of giving it to my dog. He got in through the snout and paws. So now we have a very flat Polly although I have to say my dog had a grand old time making her look that way. He is now happy to carry flat Polly around in his mouth & go and fetch her. So not all is lost! If you have a dog who is persistent in picking at stitching with his teeth I probably would not recommend this toy.
Didn't last long My dog loved this toy. However he got both of the ears off in minutes and eventually made his way through the leg in less than a week with only small amounts of time with the toy He is about 30 lbs and I expected it to last longer for how expensive it was. I eventually bought a tuff10 toy and it is holding up better. I wouldn't expect this to be a chew toy.
